Question

c2001 by L. T. Stewart

There is another me
Nobody knows.
Spiritual side,
All the feeling
Flowing deep inside

The fear of not being able
To fulfill what
Expectation I have
Of myself
In this life.

The answers
To so many questions
Remains unknown.

Am I a good person?
Do I give all the help
That is expected of me?

Was I a good mother?
Was I true to myself?

I can not answer that.
Only God knows.
Hopefully
I fulfilled
All that was expected of me
With good grace.

End of the Day

c2001 by L. T. Stewart

The evening
Is slowly approaching
The sun is disappearing
Behind the trees
On the other side
Of the island

The water is still
All is quiet
Maybe not
You can hear
The song of the loons
As they move quietly across the lake

Soon,
Most of the day creatures
Will retire
To their secret place

Then out will come
The creatures of the night
To forage in comfort
Without fear,
Maybe just have fun
In their turn
When moonlight
Lights their patch

With the wise owl
Watching over them
for danger
And a warning
With his screeching hoot.

The Dawn of a New Day

c2001 L. T. Stewart

A new day
A new beginning
The greyness
Of the night
Slowly dissipating

Quiet Day

c2001 L. T. Stewart

Patch of blue sky showing
Trees motionless
Lake calm
Not a ripple
No sounds
To break
The silence.
